Nomination details

Nominations for all meetings at Gunnedah, unless otherwise advertised, close Tuesday prior at 9.15 am. Nominate with GRNSW under the advertised procedures applying to Category D Non TAB tracks 


Box Draw

The box draw is conducted by the GRNSW following close of nominations. Box draw is released after grading and can be found on this website, under racing info tab, or alternatively at .



Scratchings procedures at NON TAB venues changed from August 1, 2014. Full information is available on the GRNSW website (click here) Scratchings between 8-9am on day of race meeting (Saturday or Sunday only) can be made by calling Phone: (02) 6742 1546 / Race Day Ph: 0417 492 321 (Geoff).  All other times must be through GRNSW. 


Kenneling & Kennels

There is a veterinary surgeon for all race meetings. The Kennel block is cooled via evaporative cooling and the kennels are on one level.


Kenneling Times 
Kennels are open between 11.30am - 12.30pm for day meetings and 6-6.45pm for night meetings. Trainers are encouraged to confirm kenneling time with the club prior to race day.



Gunnedah follow GRNSW swabbing procedures and may withhold prizemoney (usually if above $6000) at their full and unconditional discretion when swabs are undertaken. When this occurs, prizemoney is paid following clearance of swab sample.

Gunnedah GBOTA currently has one on course bookmaker, who wagers on all local events and selected major gallop meetings. Gunnedah also has an oncourse NSW TAB outlet operating on local and away meetings at selected race meetings.

Any bookmaker offering odds against a greyhound shall be compelled to lay such odds if demanded by the taker, but so that the bookmaker shall not be compelled to lose more than $1,000 on any one wager.



Under NSW Health legislation, smoking is not permitted in spectator areas nor (from July 6, 2015) within 4 metres of entry to or exit from the licensed venue. Please speak to staff on course as to designated smoking areas.



There are no EFTPOS facilities at the Gunnedah track.



There are no camping facilities for travelling trainers, with some kennels available for the greyhounds.
There are replays of all races, which are available to owners and trainers on course.
